Bruce Schachne

Chief Commercial Officer

Bruce Schachne is the Chief Commercial Officer at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) and has overall responsibility for S&P DJI’s global data and product licensing business, exchange relationships, and outreach to strategic user channels.

Previously, Bruce was Americas Head of Sales and Global Head of Marketing for S&P Global Ratings. Before taking on this role in 2015, he oversaw a global sales transformation initiative at S&P Global Ratings that resulted in the redesign of its worldwide sales organization and the establishment of global sales enablement and sales operations functions. From 2005-2014, Bruce was Vice President, Head of Market Development for Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services in the Americas. In this role, Bruce established and led the digital marketing strategy globally as well as managed relationships with the institutional investment firms that used the ratings.

Before joining Standard & Poor’s, Bruce was Global Head of Sales and Business Development at Cicada Corporation (now Chi-X Global Technology), a fintech company providing financial data management and technology solutions to large buy- and sell-side firms and exchanges. He was previously with Reuters and Dow Jones in senior sales, marketing, product management, and business development management roles in the U.S., U.K., and Germany.

Bruce earned a bachelor’s degree in political science/international political economy from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated summa cum laude, and an MBA in marketing from City University of Seattle’s Frankfurt, Germany program. Bruce is fluent in German and spent three semesters at the Georg-August-Universität in Gottingen, Germany. He is also a member of UCLA’s Political Science Board of Advisors.
